Founder

Robotics/Software Engineer

Hi there! 👋 I'm Luke — a founder and full-stack engineer who builds things from zero to one: software products, technical systems, and the communities around them. I co-founded Lecxa and took it from idea to a revenue-generating inventory platform for small businesses, helped build out some of the best hackerhouses in Australia, and founded o1lab — a free, open-access hardware lab in Sydney backed by the Blackbird Foundation.

The common thread is simple: I like technology, getting it into people's hands, and creating the ecosystem around it so others can build too. I love problem solving, I love shipping into the real world, and I'm someone who does the thing, not someone who talks about doing the thing.

These days I'm bullish on Australia 🇦🇺, startups, AI, robotics, and the next generation of technical founders — and always up for an interesting project or a deep dive into new tech. If you're into any of that, or just want to chat -> let's connect.

Experience

  1. Aug 2025 — Apr 2026

Built a frictionless inventory management system for small to medium businesses. There's a huge gap in this space for systems that just work, are low touch and easy to use. Lecxa is that system — an inventory manager for your business, not one you need to hire an inventory manager to maintain. Took it 0→1 into a revenue-generating SaaS, owning the technical architecture and product direction as CTO.

  2. Feb 2023 — Present

I learn through teaching. It started in high school helping classmates with concepts, and turned into my first teaching contract off the back of strong results. Since then I've taught across 8 subjects at UTS — these days Industrial Robotics and Additive Manufacturing to 300+ students a year — built lecture, tutorial and lab content from scratch, and earned the highest student satisfaction result ever recorded for a FEIT subject.

This was an interesting side quest. During my final year I was approached about an opportunity with DataScope — they needed a quick learner to onboard and kickstart some projects using their software in Australia. Next thing I know I'm in Chester, UK for over a month, then back home running implementation and support for APAC clients. As the only employee in the region, I'll be honest, it was isolating at times — managers and colleagues were asleep when I had to make the big calls. But it taught me to back myself, operate with full autonomy, and ship independently, which is something I lean on every day now.

  4. Nov 2023 — Mar 2024

My first professional software role — and the one that made me realise I'm a software-mechatronics engineer at heart. As a mechatronics engineer you get a taste of a lot of disciplines; this is where I learnt software was mine. It piqued my interest in machine learning and led me to enrol in a Computer Science sub-major in Data Analytics and Machine Learning to chase it further.

  5. Oct 2023 — Oct 2024

I am one of the BIGGEST advocates for student experience/involvement at university. ActivateUTS is the social lifeblood of UTS, a not-for-profit organisation that looks after on-campus events, activities, societies and facilities. I was fortunate enough to be elected as a Director to help manage the organisation and help steer policy and direction in alignment with what students wanted.

Ever wondered how/who organises desks, equipment, supplies and card access within an engineering faculty, turns out a team of 3 people (of which I was one for this stint). I worked as a technical team member to organise and maintain lab/general spaces for UTS FEIT. If you wanted card access for a lab or space, you emailed our team (honestly, a little surreal doing this as a full-time student myself).

I was skeptical on including this one, but it was a cracker experience/story, a student managing a student bar, who's idea was that? Long story short, I managed 2 bars, a team of 20+ staff and the budget that came with it. It was a blast, we ran the first launch event for SXSW in Aus, concerts with over 600 people and most importantly provided a revamped space for students to socialise and unwind. I learnt a lot about managing people, venues and the importance of having a good team.

My home for nearly three years — I went from recruit to Business Director & Senior Engineer of UTS's Formula SAE electric race team. I rebuilt and led a 10-person business team across marketing, sponsorship and events, and on the engineering side built the car's Ackermann steering system and internal wheel temperature/pressure sensing. Hit play for the reveal — a launch video I directed and presented live to 200+ people.
